Bureti Bible College [BGTC]

A Ministry of Hand of God Ministries [HGM]

Bureti Bible College is a ministry started in the year 2017 under Hand of God Ministries [HGM]. Its inception was inspired by the need to offer quality and affordable theological and Technical education at the doorstep of communities in Kericho County and beyond.

Seeking knowledge is one thing and acquiring it is another. Bureti Bible College was established to help believers acquire the education needed for effective ministry. The raising and crediting of half-backed clergy in the country was at that time on the increase. Churches were being planted all over the nation, but under unqualified and inexperienced clergy. Strange doctrines emerged and the church was under fiery critic and attack. Prosperity gospel had taken center stage leading to the rise of many cultic groups within Christianity in Kenya and Africa.

Various groups advocating for various rights came up at the national level including but not limited to LGBTXQ, Feminists and many other emerging contemporary societal issues. The government also had its share, which for most part in trying to respond to the rising voices of inclusivity, ended up rubbing the church and the biblical doctrines the wrong side. The great Bishops, Arch bishops, Rev, pastors, apostles and prophets of this great Nation Kenya, sad to say, could not raise voice to spearhead change. The situation was getting worse.

In the tradition of the great church reforms of the 15th and 16th century, with personalities such as John Hus, John Wycliffe, Calvin, and Martin Luther, education was the most effective tool that pulled Christianity into victory. The reformists took to themselves the responsibility to take people to learning institutions to prepare them for the reformation battle.

It is these same sentiments that ignited the fire in Rev. Prof Simeon Obuola Anyango, having been a registrar and academic dean at the Proposed Kenya Baptist University (Theological Seminary) in Limuru Kenya, to establish a ministry that would introduce theological training of great academic quality and yet very affordable [QA].

Our Founder

The Vision Behind the College

Rev. Prof Simeon O. Anyango

Founder: Hand of God Ministries [HGM] – Kenya

Rev. Prof Simeon Obuola Anyango is a distinguished academician and theologian with great credentials in Kenya and Africa. He served as Registrar and Academic Dean at the Proposed Kenya Baptist University (Theological Seminary) in Limuru, Kenya, where he gained extensive experience in theological education administration.

Having witnessed the raising and crediting of half-backed clergy in the country, and seeing churches being planted under unqualified and inexperienced clergy, he felt the need to address this crisis. Strange doctrines were emerging, prosperity gospel had taken center stage, and the church was under fiery critic and attack.

Alongside his contemporaries and former students, Prof. Anyango felt the need to establish a ministry that would introduce theological training of great academic quality and yet very affordable [QA]. The aim was to develop clergy with reputable academic qualifications and confidence to provide great leadership to the church of Christ in Kenya, Africa, and the world at large.

This urge and dream gave birth to Hand of God Ministries [HGM] in 2017. Today this ministry coordinates not less than ten training centers within Kenya and has spread its wings to African countries such as Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Malawi, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Congo.

His vision is to see a generation of clergy who are doctrinally sound, academically qualified, and practically equipped to serve God's people. He believes that education is the best way to raise a people and a nation to prosperity.

Our Educational Philosophy

"Pole pole ndio mwendo" – Slowly but Surely

In our journey to come up with a credible learning institution, our method has over the last seven years rolled out slowly and systematically. This is so because we believe that a long and great journey begins with one step, then travels slowly but sure.

We believe that big bodies move slowly and in their slowness have lots of weight carried. Academics is a great matter and is intended to elevate the communities' social status.

"Pole pole ndio mwendo" Slowly is the way
"Mwenda pole hajikwai" One who goes slowly doesn't stumble
"Kidogo kidogo hujaza kibaba" Little by little fills the measure

While many have flooded the academic field with disciplines of dead end, producing deadly clergymen by half-baking them academically, we seek to move slowly but develop impactful clergy that hold credible Diploma, Degree, Master's Degree, and PhD to reduce wrangles and underdevelopment which has rendered Christian institutions as centers of poverty and combative management.

The Next 10 Years

"The greater vision as projected in the strategic plan of Hand of God Ministries is to have a University with the DNA of Christianity operating under this umbrella within Kenya and beyond in the next 10 years. Every little detail is keenly micro-scoped to deliver this dream/vision."
